Academy Xi

Enrolling in Academy Xi's 3-month course was the best decision I've made so far in my career. I've had the opportunity to: 

  • Learn from industry leaders, the basics of UX/ UI. From the principles of human-centered design to each step of the double diamond, as well as technical UI software skills (eg. Figma)

  • Work on a personal UX/ UI project, as well as 2 client projects, and gain real-world industry experience.

  • Be mentored by leaders in the UX/UI space and network with Xi alumni.

Digital Marketing Executive

Sparro Digital Marketing 

Joining Sparro as a Digital Marketing Executive, I managed 3 clients from different industries (beauty, retail, and finance) to sharpen their social media & SEO strategies. After 6 months, I was given an offer to progress, but made the decision to pursue UX at Academy Xi. 
 

  • Led regular client calls and planned strategy workshops

  • Conducted SEO audits and regular keyword research to optimize ad strategy using tools like Google Trends, SEMRush, keywordtool.io.

  • Designed and implemented full-funnel growth marketing strategies for social media & Google ad campaigns Consistently exceeded clients' monthly Revenue & ROAS targets with regular and measured bid adjustments

  • Created and communicated to client in-depth weekly & monthly Google Data Studio reports with comprehensive analysis and recommendations 

  • Worked closely with Google team to test new Google products for our clients (eg. Performance Max Alpha)

2018 - 2020

Digital Marketing Coordinator

Deloitte Australia

Joining the Digital Talent Innovation team, I was part of an internal consultancy that combined tech, digital marketing, and brand expertise, to future-proof and enhance Deloitte's Employee experience.

  • Led a nationwide refresh in Deloitte Australia's job ad standards which resulted in a 12% point increase in female applications. I interviewed Recruiters and Hiring Managers to discover their main pain points in the hiring process. Then, I  incorporated SEO and copywriting best practices to design a user-friendly toolkit for Recruiters. I then led national training workshops across the firm. Upon successfully rolling out the toolkit nationally, I was asked to present my work and results globally to our APAC, US, and UK member firms. 

  • Project led the implementation of Deloitte's first chatbot on the Students' Careers website. This involved interviewing stakeholders and users, conducting usability tests, creating user flows, ensuring the bot's tone, design, and language were on-brand. I also had to liaise with software developers, complete project management/ vendor risk assessments, and presenting regularly to Partners and Talent stakeholders. 

  • Managed stakeholder and partner relationship
    (eg. AFR, GradConnection, UNSW, UTS, etc.

  • Planned, strategized, launched, and assessed bi-annual end-to-end Graduate campaigns.

  • Created EDMs and social media content for Deloitte Australia (eg. Interactive Instagram stories, animated videos, and visual content)

  • Planned, styled and coordinated photo shoots with Graduates, senior stakeholders, and Partners to generate visual content for a range of digital and print channels (eg. Social, website, AFR, Return to Work, etc.)

  • Conducted UX research to craft customer-centric digital experiences for employees and candidates. (eg. Internal Rewards Platform) 

  • Took ownership of re-designing Deloitte's internal chatbot, Charlie, based on user feedback, to improve the firm's Employee Experience.

  • Designed print and online advertising material (eg. Flyers, Guides, Banners) using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

Pêchespodo Photography

I'm that person who always carries a camera around wherever I go. The one who documents road trips or days out in short films. My partner and I started receiving some requests from friends to take their engagement photos, and that's how Pêchespodo came to be. Running a side hustle alongside a full-time role wasn't always easy, but I had the opportunity to grow in:

  • Planning & coordinating photo and video shoots - from engagements to events and birthdays.

  • Offer quality customer service in liaising with clients to realize their desired style and managing clients throughout shoots.

  • Curating, cleansing, and post-processing photos & films for client packages.

  • Utilizing Squarespace to manage and update our website.

2017

Marketing & Sales Intern

Nestlé

Over 3 months, I joined Nestlé as an intern in their Marketing & Sales team. I was then offered to be fast-tracked into the Graduate program with the team. I was given the opportunity to: 

  • Utilized Quantium to gain insights on Woolworth's digital sales and shoppers.
    Performed data mining on 2017 online promotions and presented findings to Customer Business Managers (CBMs) from each product category.

  • Created 2018 promotional activity grids per Business Unit. Worked with CBMs and Marketing team to optimize content & images on Woolworths online. Performed weekly online audits of activity on Woolworths website.

  • Assisted the Design team in styling and creative direction on photo & video shoots for Nestlé products.

2017

Marketing & Design Intern

OpenDoors Australia

Over 3 months, I joined OpenDoors Australia, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. I was given the opportunity to:

  • Be involved in copywriting and proof-reading print media campaigns (i.e. newsletters, campaign letters).

  • Liaise with Marketing, Editorial and Design teams to finalize desired design and branding on assets.

  • UtilisePhotoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and InDesign to design global promotional materials (eg. brochures, videos, social posts).

Over 3 months, I joined the PR & Social Media team as an intern and had the opportunity to:

  • Utilize Meltwater & Influencing databases to source potential influencers, editors and publishers.

  • Curate content calendars, creating and scheduling Social Media posts for clients (i.e. Coca- Cola, Hisense, Macquarie Ice Rink)

  • Manage customer relationships by resolving and escalating customer complaints/ enquiries on Social channels.

  • Coordinate and assist on client video shoots.

Interests & Hobbies

As a true creator with a love for design and data, UX/ UI is the best place for me. Nothing excites me more than designing an experience, backed by research, that brings people joy!

Aside from my experience in digital marketing, data analytics, and design, I also run a side photography hustle – Pêches & Podo.

 

But my interests don't end there.
I love creating music, drawing & illustrating, embroidery, gaming (Overwatch is my go-to in case you're wondering), and immersing myself in different cultures and languages – Japanese and Spanish are next on my list!
